Our Services

People come to us who are struggling with anxiety, depression, insomnia, attention/concentration problems, substance use disorders, relationship difficulties, childhood and acute trauma, and body image concerns in order to achieve a happier and healthier mind, body and spirit. After a thorough evaluation, our recommendations may involve therapy, conventional psychiatric medications, alternative treatments (herbs/supplements, meditation, nutritional counseling, exercise, breathing techniques, sleep hygiene), or a combination of these interventions.

Psychiatric Evaluation

(60-90 mins)

The first step in treatment planning involves a comprehensive assessment of your current symptoms, your past, and your goals for treatment.  This may involve, with your permission, contacting providers or family members who know you well and who may provide a richer perspective on your concerns.

After the assessment, we will review evidence-based treatments and possible referrals to other providers to promote wellness. Each decision about your treatment will be made together after extensive education so that you feel comfortable and confident about our plan.

Therapy

(45-60 mins)

Jill’s therapeutic style is eclectic and personalized, thoughtfully adapted to meet the unique needs of each individual she works with. Originally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, she later expanded her approach to include skills-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). More recently, she discovered a deep connection with Internal Family Systems (IFS)  and has completed advanced Level 1 training.

Jill is one of the few psychiatric nurse practitioners who integrates therapy into her work with psychiatric medication management, offering a holistic and depth-oriented approach to healing. Combining Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy with psychiatric medications can be especially effective in treating complex mental health conditions. While medication offers immediate relief and supports overall stability, IFS helps individuals explore the root causes of their symptoms, foster self-understanding and self-compassion to develop lasting coping strategies. Together, therapy and medications can create a powerful, integrative path toward healing.

Medication Management

(30 mins)

Medication visits typically occur twice-monthly at first, but once you feel better, we may meet every couple of months. We do our best to use the lowest dose and fewest medications possible. We often help people eliminate medications that are no longer needed or effective. We may also recommend vitamins or supplements in combination or in lieu of traditional prescription medications. During our follow-up visits, we will incorporate extensive education and recommendations regarding diet, sleep, and exercise.

We practice personalized medicine by offering genetic testing to help determine which drugs may be a better fit based on your unique genes. A simple cheek swab identifies key genes in your DNA that may affect how you respond to medication. This can potentially save us months of trial and error and unwanted side effects traditionally involved in selecting a psychiatric medication.

If you’re currently working with a therapist, we’re happy to collaborate with them to support your care. In this partnership, we aim to understand you as a whole person—not just through the lens of your symptoms—so we can provide thoughtful, integrated support.

Combined Treatment

(45 mins)

Most of Jill’s patients choose to see her, when appropriate, both for medication management and individual psychotherapy. These visits typically occur weekly, although we may decide together that more or less frequent visits are appropriate. While medications can reduce the intensity of symptoms, IFS can help individuals explore the root causes of their symptoms, fostering self-understanding and self-compassion to develop lasting coping strategies. At this time, Daniel sees patients for psychiatric evaluations, second opinions, and ongoing medication management.

“Working with Jill has been an awesome experience. I have always felt heard when discussing treatments and my experience, while also being challenged if I say something that needs to undergo a little scrutiny.”
